Sorry for the whining!

Ok, so I was feeling pretty junky last time I posted.  I'm not feeling much better, but I have had a bit of an attitude adjustment and that helps a lot.  So, I thought I'd share a funny story to show that life isn't so bad around here.

A couple of weeks ago we had a lesson for Family night where I had the girls look in a mirror and then at each other and say "I see a child of God."  We discussed how everyone is a child of God and we need to treat each other better than we do because Heavenly Father loves all of us.  So over the next couple of days I'd say Connor, look at Emily, what do you see? She'd say very enthusiastically, "A child of GOD!"

So, we were in the car this week and the girls were getting tired.  I started running my errands too late, and I knew it was coming, so I was trying to stop the whining and screaming.  Connor started shouting at Emily about something and I said "Connor, that's not very nice, look at Emily, what do you see?"  She thought very seriously for a minute and I was pumped, I knew she was getting it and was about to apologize for yelling at a child of God.  Boy was I surprised when her answer was" ...hmmm A monster!?"

I promise I didn't teache her that part! :)  What funny children I have!

Yuck

I love my children.  Really I do.  But some days I want to send them all back. At least for a day or two!

Last night Emily decided to wake up at 2:00 a.m.  Yuck.  She then proceeded to throw tantrums and such until after 4:00 a.m.  Scott, saint that he is, took a couple of shifts during these hours even though he had to get up at 4:30 to teach seminary.  Bless him!  The worst part is that she woke up before 8:00 completely unaware that she had done anything wrong!  She was laughing and playing and was very upset that I didn't want to get out of bed at ALL...

I mean, I may have been happy to get out of bed if I had had a good 8 hours and my other child wasn't giving me fits.  I need my sleep right now.  I really do.  I don't run well unless I get at least 6 hours uninterrupted.  If there are interruptions it has to go to 8 hours.  This lovely little girl we're going to have in March is not making this possible for me.  I'm counting my blessings that I don't generally have to get up to go to the bathroom yet, but as of now I probably couldn't make it if I had to!  I don't know what the problem is, but my back and hips won't let me walk if I do ANYTHING productive during the previous 8 hours...so laundry is ok, folding and putting it away is out.  My floors are sticky.  Dinners are quick and oh so nutritious.  Christmas shopping has been interesting.  I'm hoping this baby will let me recover from this pregnancy faster than my other two so my house will be clean sometime before Easter.  Between now and then is not looking so good.

While I may look fabulous during this pregnancy (umm...people tell me things like this, I didn't come up with it on my own...and note the sarcasm) this baby, likes to do water aerobics at all the wrong times, and there isn't much space in there!  Really, who needs lungs, a bladder, kidneys, or unbruised ribs?  Yuck

I do love her.  And we have decided on a name, by the way.  She will be Ella Lucile, after her great grandmothers Kiley and Hales.  That's the plan so far.  We haven't changed our minds in a long time, so I'm pretty sure it'll stick.

Thankfully, Connor is being super cooperative today.  That may be due to the fact that I threatened to throw away all of her toys if she didn't clean them up...and I meant it this time.  (She's pretty sure I mean it every time.  Don't tell her about the time I had her throw away a bag of blocks and then pulled out the bag and put the blocks back in the box later!)
